Did you know? USCIS has announced a new regulation. From October 28, 2025, applicants will no longer be allowed to pay immigration fees by check.
Going forward, there will be only two accepted payment methods:
The first is credit card, and the second is ACH, an automatic deduction from a U.S. bank account. This means that checks and money orders will be completely eliminated.
The reason behind this change is simple. While checks are easy to use, they are also prone to errors, delays, and processing issues. Payments made by credit card or ACH, on the other hand, are faster, safer, and easier to track.
So if you are still used to mailing checks, make sure to switch your payment method soon, or your immigration application may be rejected.
